SHOULDER pain is an extremely common complaint, and there are many common causes of this problem. It is important to make an accurate diagnosis of the cause of your symptoms so that appropriate treatment can be directed at the cause.

Shoulder pain and injury is an issue we see often at Olympic Sport Therapy. If you think about how much your shoulder moves, it is one of the joints that moves the most in your body.

The shoulder joint is unstable due to the contact zone of the joint is very minimal. The shoulder muscles are a very important part of proper function of the shoulder.

People who are having shoulder pain generally happens because the muscles are uncoordinated or not strong enough

The good news is  both of these issues can be corrected with specific exercises based on the injury and a custom treatment plan.

At Olympic Sport Therapy we know managing a shoulder injury with specific sport therapy techniques is generally successful. There is two options in the treatment of shoulder pain based on the severity of the condition. Taking a conservative approach with a customized treatment plan with your sport therapist, or sometimes the damage may be more than 40% at which time surgery will be the only solution.

Definition:

The shoulder is the lateral portion of the scapular region, where the scapula joins with the clavicle and humerus and is covered by the rounded mass of the deltoid muscle.
