Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by pressure on the median nerve that runs through the carpel tunnel of the wrist. This is painful and symptoms can include pins and needles, numbness and pain especially at night.
Repetitive movements, pregnancy or arthritis can lead to carpel tunnel. Whenever there is swelling inside of the wrist.
Symptoms start when pressure inside the tunnel becomes high. This results in your median nerve becoming compressed as it passes through the small tunnel.
