ONGOING TREATMENT-THE KEY OF RECOVERY

At Olympic Sport Therapy we are as serious about sport therapy as our athletes are about the sport they love. Our therapists prescribe a treatment plan for our athletes. Athletes or people who are active push their bodies to the limit. This causes injury and pain. Sometimes pain can become chronic if not taken care of early. Your sport therapist will custom design a treatment plan for your specific condition.

In the first session your sport therapist will use specific techniques to reduce swelling and inflammation and lactic acid. Cryotherapy and lymphatic drainage may be performed.

You will be advised to come back in 3 days for your second treatment where you will be assessed and receive more techniques to help heal the afflicted area.

Your sport therapist will advise you to come back in 3-5 days for the next session and administer some myofascial or deep tissue work to begin to break down the scar tissue.

There will be 3-4 weekly sessions, then expand to every 2 weeks then every 3weeks and eventually one month to see if your body can maintain its healthy condition on its own. Maintenance massage will then be prescribed.

Everyone’s condition is as individual as they are. Some athletes will heal quickly, some athletes will take weeks or months to completely heal depending on the severity of the injury.

Our highly trained sport therapists will provide you with the proper treatment plan to get you into peak physical condition.

The mark of a great player is in his ability to come back. The great champions have all come back from defeat.
